Project update 12 of 20

Final Hours, Third Stretch Goal, and Waveforms

In this update, we celebrate reaching the third stretch goal, discuss pricing after the campaign, and do some show and tell with the new waveform generation feature.

Third Stretch Goal Reached!

You did it again, the third and last stretch goal has been reached. It brings dual range current measurement and some further changes of the power board, such as modification of the heatsink (it’s now 15 mm longer but still compatible with older boards).

Campaign Pricing Ends Soon

If you want an EEZ H24005, the time is now! The pre-order price after the campaign will jump from \$399 to \$450. The final retail price will be at least $499, possibly higher. Ordering now will help us hit a higher minimum order quantity (e.g., 500 instead of 250) and ensure we can keep the EEZ H24005 in production.

We originally thought this would be a one-time manufacturing run, but we’ve been greatly encouraged by the support we’ve received so far to go for a larger production run and keep the project going beyond the campaign. Get the EEZ H24005 while the getting is good and help support the future of the project!

Digitally Controlled Output Waveforms

In our fourth update, you had a chance to see how to change output the voltage with an external analog signal. By adding an arbitrary waveform generator, the EEZ H24005 will offer even more freedom and flexibility, not just for output voltage but also for current programming. It can be used for automated testing and battery charging, and even coupled with an external trigger. As usual, we started by adding the necessary SCPI subset for this new feature. The next step will be the GUI. Support for multiple waveform lists (limited only by SD card storage, which is itself huge!) is currently under development. Please note that, due to limitations of the MCU and display, such waveform generation is limited to a maximum number of set points (by default set to 256) and frequency. You can see below a few examples of what is possible to generate right now with the latest firmware build using these simple sequences of SCPI commands:
