I made the first 70 Pixelblaze with tweezers and a $30 skillet for reflow. Way less than even a modded toaster oven! Now, I use a combination of inexpensive desktop pick-and-place machines and contract manufacturers, but I wouldn't have invested in either if I hadn't proven out the concept first. If you have ideas burning in your head but aren't sure about how to start without breaking the bank, this is the talk for you. I'll cover some super low-cost ways of doing your own assembly for prototypes and the first 50 or so units.
