Main Hall
We would like to set up a small "pop-up makerspace" in one of the common areas at Teardown with an assortment of tools that folks might want to use for hacking on things while at the conference. These items may include a 3D printer, Analog Discovery 2 or similar (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, AWG, power supply), DMMs, soldering irons, hot glue guns, Dremel, and/or various hand tools (wire stripper, screwdrivers, pliers, files, etc). We anticipate needing approximately 1-2 8’ tables and access to 2+ electrical outlets. Attendees would be allowed to use the equipment under the supervision of either Nathan or Peter from open to close, each day of the conference. We plan on offering smaller workshop-style classes such as "Introductory Oscilloscopes" or "Debugging with a Logic Analyzer" throughout the conference and distributing print outs of various "maker skills trees" (https://github.com/sjpiper145/MakerSkillTree) to facilitate a welcoming, educational experience for people of all ability levels. Additionally, we plan on offering a free electronics kit for attendees to build and for which we would greatly appreciate some small reimbursement from the Teardown organizers!
