Talk Track Two

12edo (standard tuning) cannot access the notes of the harmonic series. Harmonic 2 is exact. Harmonic 3 is extremely close. Harmonic 5 is almost close. Harmonic 7 isn’t there. Harmonic 11 is halfway in between two notes and is about as far away from 12edo as possible. Since standard instruments and standard practice are not set up to access the harmonic series directly, we can turn to technology to access these notes. We can use FLO music tools such as skip-tuning, a 41edo guitar called Kite guitar, Mosaichord, Xenachord, and computers running GNU/Linux, the greatest operating system of all time. With FLO software licensed under the GNU General Public License, we can access delay/looping, distortion, EQ, reverb, synthesis, and other DSP (Digital Signal Processing). All of these tools put together can allow us to learn and play new notes not found on standard instruments. This performance is FLO music made possible with FLO tools for all.
