flagday (a particular kind of perceptiveness) is an interactive conceptual art installation that provides an imagined means of cruising and flagging for queer community. It explores how queer community signals within itself and uses LoRa and 20th century methods of music composition to provide new explorations into these practices of queer semiotics. With flagday, you communicate nonverbally using a fixed set of messages. Each device is enclosed in a case modeled after folded bandanas and programmed with a distinct ringtone. While each ringtone may sound quite different, each is nonetheless related to the rest of the ringtones on the other devices.
