Oscillara

Oscillara started, like most of our projects, with a random pile of stuff we didn’t ask for, but couldn’t ignore. In this case, it was a pile of ordinary, white, and stubbornly uninspired PVC pipes until it started hinting at light. That’s usually how it goes. We don’t sit down with a blueprint; we start tinkering and see where the pieces want to take us.
As the pipes gathered into clusters, they demanded company: 3D-printed caps lined with mirrors, magnets to snap them into place, and LEDs to make them glow. Ten pieces formed a triangle, six triangles built a hexagon, and suddenly the scraps had a rhythm. Steel gave the shape backbone, bolts gave it muscle, and light gave it breath.
Oscillara is still very much alive—half artwork, half puzzle. It asks practical questions (how do we move it without wrecking our backs?) right alongside playful ones (what if we twist it this way?). The fun is in the becoming. Oscillara isn’t just an object; it’s a process you can still feel humming inside it.
About the Artists
Twisty Maurice is the creative partnership of Misty Post and Therese Gietler, artists who build light-based installations that move, react, and surprise. Starting with found materials and a spark of curiosity, they transform public spaces into playful, luminous environments.
From festivals to galleries, each piece invites discovery, sometimes glowing, sometimes beeping, always alive. Twisty Maurice’s core is a shared spirit of experimentation, camaraderie, and a belief that art should be both thoughtful and fun. If it doesn’t bring joy, why bother?
