The retrocomputing hobby has a conundrum: interest in the hobby keeps growing as old hardware keeps breaking down. Open source hardware projects that breathe new life into old computers have stepped in to help fill the gap, with new projects appearing every week. Ian Scott gives a high level overview of the recent history of these projects and important developments in this community.
