Tickets are now available for sale.
Teardown has three rounds of ticket sales: early early bird, early bird and regular. The discounted early bird tickets are limited and sell out quickly every year. Last year we sold out of all tickets.
Subsidized tickets for low-income attendees are available. If you would like to attend and feel you qualify, please email teardown@crowdsupply.com for more information.

Time & Space
Teardown 2026 will start on Friday 24th July and end on Sunday 26th July. During the day there will be scheduled talks and workshops, and during the evening there will be social events and activities.
We will also coordinate a few associated events on the days immediately before and after Teardown, typically including a factory tour, a vintage tech museum + surplus store visit, and a hardware happy hour.
Teardown 2026 will be held at the Jupiter, a cool Portland hotel + motel with several beautiful event spaces.
Our discounted room block is now sold out. The Jupiter NEXT has still has rooms or there are several other options within walking distance.
What to Expect
Teardown is about the practice and the art of hardware: prototyping, manufacturing, hacking, testing, creating, disassembling, experimenting, and circumventing, all while having fun. Leave the marketing buzzwords and venture capital talk at the door and come prepared to learn, teach, and be inspired.
Talks & Workshops
Teardown will have two tracks of talks, one track of workshops and one skill sharing track covering a range of hardware topics and experience levels.
Previous events have featured amazing talks and workshops on a wide range of topics — FPGAs, DIY mesh networks, KiCad, firmware, covert blinkenlights, the DMCA, security, RISC-V, prototyping, tariffs, open source licensing, product development, indie manufacturing and so much more.

Demos & Installations
Teardown has demo tables for companies, community organizations and individuals to show off their work, as well as an exhibition of hacker art.
Installations and demonstrations at previous events have included circuit sculptures, modular synths, DIY satellite receivers, retro gaming computers, robotic arms, LED art, cube sats, VR rigs, musical instruments and electronic jewelry.

Space to Hack
There will be tables, power, basic electronics tools (soldering irons, snippers, multimeter, oscope, etc) and WiFi available at Teardown. Bring projects to troubleshoot or show off: we love seeing what everyone is working on!
Food & Drink
Teardown serves excellent local food, from Tamale Boy tacos to Oyestsupan curry buns.
We provide breakfast and lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Food, beer, wine and soft drinks will be available at the garden party on Saturday evening.
Coffee and tea will be served with breakfast and there are several hot and cold water points at the venue.
Downtime
Our line up of talks and workshops is always fantastic, but we recognize that the best part of any get together is often the stuff that happens without a schedule. That’s why we leave plenty of room to swap stories over food and/or drink, compare notes on personal projects, and catch up with friends old and new.
Teardown doesn’t end when the talks and workshops wind down each day: every year we organize a number of fun things to do in the evening, including a hackerspace garden party at Ctrl-H.
We will also coordinate a few associated events on the days immediately before and after Teardown, including a vintage tech museum + surplus store visit, and a hardware happy hour. If you have a cool space you’d like to show off or if you’d like to organise a satellite event please email teardown@crowdsupply.com.

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, organizers, and volunteers at Teardown are required to agree with the following code of conduct. We will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.
Teardown is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment of anyone, in any form, for any reason, including for reasons of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion (or lack thereof), technology choices, dietary choices, subject matter expertise, educational background, economic circumstance, family status, or employment status.
Harassment includes offensive verbal or written comments related to any of the above reasons; deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, or recording; sustained disruption of communication and event activities; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.
Sexualized marketing material is not appropriate for Teardown.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of Teardown staff immediately.
Teardown staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event.
We expect participants to follow these rules at all Teardown-related events and venues, both online and offline. Participants violating these rules will be sanctioned at the discretion of the organizers.
