Manufacturing Update

Good news everyone, the manufacturing of the first batch of ANAVI Gas Detector has been done! We are expecting another batch at the end of next week. In the meantime, the units from the first batch will be flashed with the default open source firmware, tested and packaged.

In an era where most of the electronics are made in Asia, I am proud that ANAVI Gas Detector printed circuit boards (PCB) are made in my hometown Plovdiv, Bulgaria, EU. Fortunately for me, there are local factories and suppliers on which I can rely for low-volume manufacturing. To ensure consistent high quality, all PCBs have a gold surface finish. The fabrication process includes a procedure called panelization, which groups together a number of PCBs on a larger board called a "panel". Each panel contains 6 units of ANAVI Gas Detector. After that, components are mounted on each board. On the photo above you can see a several panels from the first batch with fully assembled units with all SMT and THT components.

When all ANAVI Gas Detectors are entirely ready we will provide them to Crowd Supply and they will fulfill your orders. So far everything is going as planned and the estimated shipping date remains as initially announced Nov 22, 2019. As usual we will keep you updated.

One more thing… Crowd Supply and ANAVI Technology are giving prizes to anyone who shares their success story for using any of our open source hardware products. Use the submission form to send us a Field Report of 100 words or so along with any supplemental pictures or other resources. If it’s suitable, we’ll publish it as an update and reward you with a $25 Crowd Supply credit! In addition, all publishable entries received before Nov 15, 2019 will be entered into a random prize drawing for more cool gear:

Thank you for supporting the crowdfunding campaign for ANAVI Gas Detector! Stay tuned for more updates.

Best regards,
Leon
