When we launched Genesis, we set out to do two things: (1) Create a truly modular prototyping system; and (2) Introduce the AX22 protocol, a new breadboard compatible module standard. That mission hasn't changed. What has changed is our understanding of how to best achieve it. Read the full update.
As our crowdfunding campaign ends, we want to express our gratitude to each one of you. Your support has been incredible, and we're thrilled to announce that we've not only reached our funding goal but exceeded it! In this update, we announce the two free expansion modules you've chosen, request feedback on the Genesis Matrix board design, and highlight a product prototype made using Genesis IoT Discovery Lab. Read the full update.
To show my appreciation for all of your support, I would like to include two additional (and completely new!) modules in the Genesis IoT Discovery Lab Starter Kit. And, rather than deciding on my own, I believe it would be much better to let the community choose what new modules to add... Read the full update.
Yes, at first glance this might look like “yet another hardware standard.” But that was never the goal. It started as a set of shortcuts while I was building my own boards and sensors. This update covers the history of the AX22 standard and the genesis of Genesis. Read the full update.
Bringing Genesis IoT Discovery Lab to this point has been a wild ride - honestly, developing the AX22 standard took way longer than I thought it would, but we're finally here and I couldn't be more excited! I can't wait to see what crazy projects you'll build with this modular madness. What I love about Genesis is having all these modules with the same standardized pinout - it makes building so much faster. Need a temperature sensor? Plug it in. Want to add an LED matrix? Same deal. Everything just works together without rewiring or pin remapping. Whether you're teaching students, iterating on product designs, or just experimenting with IoT, having modules that play nice together speeds up the whole process. Read the full update.
