Thanks to all the backers for the positive response on the Baochip-1x Dabao Evaluation Board campaign!

As a friendly reminder, there’re only a couple more days left in the campaign. At the time of posting, we have just a few hundred more boards available. Once these are sold, no more units will be offered for public sale until at the earliest fall of 2026.

In the intervening time, I’ll be focusing on stabilizing the mass production infrastructure for the chip, as well as fabricating a fresh lot of wafers so there is ample inventory available for the full public offering of the chip.

The pause is also an opportunity for me to work with early adopters like you and flesh out the software and documentation ecosystem. On that note, several chapters have been added to the Coder’s Guide to the Baochip-1x. While this book is still far from complete, you can drop into our Discord and vote for which features you’d like to see documented next. The book is also open source, so if you have additions, corrections, or suggestions you can open a pull request in the repository.
