Project update 1 of 1
Hi everyone,
Thanks for signing up to follow Romu. We’re getting closer to launch, and we wanted to share a small but exciting milestone with you.
Our first working prototype was built on a green PCB, hand-assembled and hand-soldered in-house. That board let us validate the schematic, confirm the RP2354A bring-up, and make sure the whole "Raspberry Pi in your USB port" concept actually worked in the real world before committing to anything more polished.
We’ve now moved on to our next-stage prototype, built on a black PCB, the color and finish we’re planning to carry through to the production run. Side by side with the original green board, you can really see how far things have come: cleaner assembly, tighter tolerances, and a look that’s much closer to what will actually ship to you.
Functionally, nothing has changed: same RP2354A, same USB Type-A form factor, same capacitive touch button and RGB LED. This update is purely about maturing the build from a hand-built proof of concept toward a production-ready design.
We’re continuing to refine assembly and prepare for the full production run ahead of launch. We’ll keep sharing progress here as we get closer, so stay tuned, and if you haven’t already, keep an eye on this page for the official launch date.
Thanks for being part of the journey so far!
