Mechanical Drawings Released

Many people have asked us about mechanical drawings. Deepwave is here to answer the mail.

AIR-T functional mechanical drawing

From the renderings shown on the AIR-T CrowdSupply main page, you are going to see some changes. First and foremost, the overall board dimensions have remained unchanged. The AIR-T is still 170 mm x 170 mm, or Mini-ITX dimensions. We will be updating the rendering in the coming weeks. Here are the bigger changes.

RF Connections

The most obvious changes are the connector locations. We’ve packed a lot into the board and we were very tight on real estate near the board edge. We decided to change the RF connections from SMA edge-mount to MCX surface-mount. We had anticipated this when we launched, and you can see that we will be providing 4 x MCX-to-SMA connectors for this very reason. Sorry if there was any confusion on this point.

USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, SD Card

Some of the I/O connections (USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, SD Card) had to be shifted slightly but remained on the same side of the board.

Power

The power connector was changed from the bottom left of the board (as oriented in the drawing above) to the top right. This was done to place all of the common connections on the front panel.

JTAG

In the former location of the DC power connector, you will now find the FPGA JTAG USB circuit and port.

FPGA (UART)

The USB UART for the FPGA is located slightly left of center at the bottom of the board.

There are a few other minor changes that occurred, so if you have any questions, please reach out to us and stay tuned. More technical information is on its way.
