GCompris Educational Suite

Lilyana and I are having great fun at the moment, crashing boats, submarines and satellites thanks to gcompris running on the Libre Tea Computer Card.

To make sure that we gave a genuine report of first impressions, we’re publishing this video despite running out of battery on the camera after three minutes. I was amazed at the number of activities that are available for gcompris: it certainly appears to be a really active community since I first learned of gcompris as long as over ten years ago. In reviewing them further (off-camera) so far we’ve found that the submarine game is great, as is the boats and satellites game. The "water cycle" one however seems to be a bit too much for the A20 to cope with: it’s useable but gets very slow. We still have a lot more to investigate and are really looking forward to playing together: that alone tells you everything you need to know, that it is encouraging us both to play together and learn.
