Mid-April Status Report

by Andrew Li

We’re excited to share the latest updates, tutorials, and project status for ESP32JTAG.

1. Tutorial Video

We have published a new demo video showcasing AI-driven embedded development in action: AI-Driven Embedded Development: STM32 + ESP32JTAG Closed-Loop Demo:

This video demonstrates a complete workflow where AI:

All running on real hardware.

2. Tutorial Article

We’ve also released a detailed hands-on tutorial: Getting Started with AI-Driven Embedded Development Using ESP32JTAG.

This tutorial walks through how AI, AEL (AI Embedded Lab), and ESP32JTAG work together to:

Key Idea

This workflow is fundamentally different from traditional embedded development.

In the past, even a simple LED blink required:

With ESP32JTAG + AEL + AI tools (such as Codex or Claude Code), the entire loop can be handled by AI:

generate → build → flash → verify → fix → verify again

Even hardware validation can be automated using ESP32JTAG’s data capture capabilities, removing the need for manual observation. This enables a true AI-driven closed-loop system.

3. Open Source

The ESP32JTAG project is fully open source; source code and schematics are all available on GitHub.

Users and backers are free to explore, modify, and build upon the design.

4. Project Status & Delivery

Good news, everything is ready:

There’s only one remaining item: the custom cables are slightly delayed, but already in transit.

Estimated Timeline

We truly appreciate your patience and support while we finalize this last step.
