Only a few days have passed since the last Lite3DP Gen 2 units were sold. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who accompanied us throughout this generation of Lite3DP. It has been a true honor to serve scientists, engineers, designers, students, and enthusiasts around the world.
As we once did with the first generation, we have decided to discontinue this version in order to focus on the development of a new machine.
And we have very good news. In addition to newly available technologies, we have begun collaborating with a new display manufacturer.
The next generation of Lite3DP will incorporate a small monochrome display, enabling UV irradiance up to five times higher than the RGB displays used in previous generations. This results in significantly shorter printing times, along with very high resolution that will rival the latest commercial machines. We also now have access to a new yellow polarizer that allows operation at both 385 nm and the standard 405 nm wavelengths.
Of course, the next Lite3DP will remain faithful to its essence: precision at small scale, research-driven design, and openness to experimentation. We are very excited about what is coming.
Every tool has its purpose. We can build the most beautiful, durable, and practical hammer, but it is useless to someone who does not need to drive nails. After nine years of working on this project, we have come to understand that Lite3DP is an ideal tool for research settings, where small resin volumes and deep customization of the printing process are essential. As we have said before, it is an unmatched satisfaction to see our creation serving science. For this reason, we will focus our efforts on making the next generation especially valuable for this sector.
As we did with Gen 2, we would like to collaborate closely with two or three universities or laboratories to finalize the technical specifications that will bring the greatest benefit to the field.
If you are interested in collaborating on the next generation and shaping a machine designed around your real-world needs, please feel free to contact us with no obligation. We believe this could be a meaningful opportunity to create something truly valuable together.
We greatly appreciate your thoughts, feedback, and continued support.
Thank you very much for reading and take care.
