Crowd Supply Launches Traverse’s Ten64 to Support IoT Gateways, Cloud Architectures, and Network-Attached-Storage Devices

October 20, 2020Crowd Supply, the leading product development platform connecting hardware creators with early adopters and enthusiastic backers, announces the launch of Ten64, an eight-core ARM64 networking platform from Traverse Technologies that delivers independent, high-speed connectivity across eight Gigabit Ethernet ports and two 10-gigabit SFP+ cages.

The networking appliance is ideal for local edge gateways and 4G/5G gateways for cloud architectures, Internet of Things (IoT) gateways, and network-attached-storage devices for use both at home and in the office. The Ten64 board is highly versatile: All network ports are individual controllers, allowing users to isolate devices for different purposes if needed.

Ten64, developed by Traverse Technologies and launched via Crowd Supply, is designed around the NXP Semiconductors LS1088A system-on-chip and features robust memory and storage assets, including a DDR4 SO-DIMM slot that supports 32 Gbytes of memory with ECC. Ten64 also features 8 Mbytes of onboard QSPI NOR flash and 256 Mbytes onboard NAND flash. Crucial for networking designers, Ten64 is designed to run mainline Linux kernels and distributions.

This capability significantly reduces the hassle around embedded Linux development. The Ten64 board can easily accommodate gigabit internet traffic, and can reach even higher speeds with technologies like XDP, DPDK, and AIOP. The designers of Ten64 prioritize openness in their designs, and they have published a range of resources, including a PDF of schematics, PCB placement diagram, firmware source code, and all software customized by Traverse.
