Greetings REMzen Backers,

We would like to update you on a couple of new things that we have finalized so far!

Power consumption:

We have finalized our power consumption tests on the current RZ|X1 and made our battery selection. We have selected a battery that will last about 15 hours which is about two nights of sleep. We couldn’t select a bigger battery because that would compromise the comfort and the weight of the mask. In practical terms, the battery has lasted about two nights and a half on a full charge. Charging takes about 2-3 hours on a fast charger (phone or tablet) and about 6 hours if it was plugged to a computer. We recommend that you charge it after every night, plug it on your phone or tablet charger when you leave the house or when you’re not charging your electronics. A micro-USB cable will be included with the mask!

The REMzen Utility:

We have finalized the GUI (graphical user interface) that you will be using to set up your alarm. It will notify you when the mask is “detected” once you plug-in the USB and turn ON your mask. It will sync up the current time from your computer as soon as you connect your mask and it will do that seamlessly in the background. You will be able to enter the alarm window, which is a 30 minutes window, by choosing the time of the beginning of that window. As the picture below indicates, when you set your alarm at 6, the mask will wake you up between 6 and 6:30 depending on your sleep cycle (no later than 6:30). Once you get out of REM sleep and into light sleep in that window, the mask will trigger the wake up LEDs. This utility will be available for PC and MAC.
