Project update 4 of 5

Production Complete

by Robin R

Dear supporters,

As announced a few days ago on Twitter, we finished the production of all Pixel Pumps, SMD Magazines, Magazine Rails and the Foot Pedals smoothly at the end of April.

So we are theoretically ready for shipping!

However, there were delays with the product packaging. It turned out that the manufacturer I worked with for the SMD Magazine packaging does not have sufficient production capabilities for printed corrugated cardboard.

The main problem was that printed corrugated board could only be produced by laminating an additional layer of kraft paper. However, this significantly worsened the folding characteristics and the general appearance of the packaging. So much so that I had to change packaging manufacturers again shortly before the planned delivery date.

New samples had to be made and the design partially adjusted. This caused the delay.

I was able to get an earlier production slot for my packaging by mentioning the urgency in this project several times, so I will already get the final packaging for the foot pedals and SMD Magazine Rails delivered in the middle of this week!

Unfortunately, there was no capacity for the Pixel Pump packaging for this slot, but I expect an update from my manufacturer this week and will inform you again next week through a Crowd Supply update.

I know you guys have been waiting for your Pixel Pump for a while now, and believe me, I too am longing for the delivery.

That’s why I decided to include a free SMD Magazine Loader for everyone who ordered a Pixel Pump. So you can fill SMD Magazines with new components in no time.

I really can’t wait to see what you do with your Pixel Pump and how you like it.

Greetings from Germany,
Robin Reiter
