Project update 16 of 17

Late April Manufacturing Status

by Patrick V

Yikes, time sure flies! It’s been awhile, but I’ve been busy in the meantime and have made good progress toward getting product ready for shipment!

The ManT1S boards were on their way when I wrote the last update and they have long since arrived from Kingtop; 455 of them have been programmed and tested. Of these, there were five failures, which is about a 1% failure rate and not bad for a first production run! All of these failures had something to do with the network not working, but since I’m currently focused on getting product delivered ASAP, I have not yet done a deep dive to see what exactly went wrong with these units. I’ve set them aside for future analysis later, after the rewards are shipped.

The single-unit ManT1S board rewards have been packed with mandatory CE safety cards and labeled for shipment:

Sino-Mos did a very quick job of getting the 9000 PMS150G chips programmed. Kingtop also did a great job of quickly producing and delivering the first production round of the ManT1S-Bridge, and I’ve started testing these. Initial testing has been looking good, no failures found yet. With this, I have now all the hardware in my possession, and what remains is a matter of doing the testing and packaging work to get them ready for shipment.

All this means we’re looking pretty good for being able to start shipping rewards to backers around our targeted mid-May timeframe. Stay tuned, we’re almost there! :)
