When we launched this campaign, we knew we were going into some serious headwinds. 2020 has been a rough year for all of us, and we were up against a very busy news cycle.
When I woke up this morning, I saw that the campaign had closed at $398,661. I had to rub my eyes and hit refresh a couple times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming: this was beyond my highest expectations.
Thank you. Thank you to the entire Precursor community—everyone who backed the campaign, helped spread the word about it, or offered the positive, encouraging comments that gave us the momentum to keep cranking out campaign updates on a hectic, weekly schedule.
We sincerely hope this is just the beginning of our journey together. We’ll tone down the pace of updates—we want to be respectful of your inbox—but we’re looking forward to bringing you along on our journey to produce, validate, and ship your hardware. We’re doing it in "hard mode," with a global pandemic still in full force, so I’m sure we will have our fair share of ups and downs, but we will meet this challenge with grit and with a determination to hit our target ship dates.
Finally, we want to re-iterate our commitment to support Precursor beyond its delivery. We hope to take this strong showing of support and build a durable community around it. With your inspiration and passion, Precursor will live up to its name and empower many new ideas, from crypto wallets to secure communications devices to password keepers. We can’t wait to see what people come up with, and we look forward to building a healthy, friendly, and verdant community together.
