Update 7 of 7
Summer is off to a great start, and we can’t wait to see everyone at Teardown 2026! We’ve also got new tricks from Atum A3 Nano and lore from CycloMod.
Altera is proud to be back as a sponsor for Teardown 2026. This year we are hosting the Altera Retro Arcade Lounge. Our MisterFPGA demo will be set up for people to relive their favorite DOS shareware games, and you can also check out the Cyclone V based Retro Remake SuperStation one. In addition to our FPGAs pretending to be x86 processors, we will also be hosting a couple of guest demos with even more retro gaming options. Stop by to hang out and unwind from all the excitement.
Gwenhael Goavec has been busy with his Atum A3 Nano board and now there are even more open-source options to speed up development. Not only has he added support for the board to openFPGALoader, he has also added LiteX support complete with SDRAM, SD card, HDMI and Ethernet so you can run Linux-on-LiteX-VexRiscv on the Atum A3 Nano. It’s great to see what the open-source community is doing with this hardware. And don’t forget, Altera provides the full Pro version of Quartus at no cost for Agilex 3 and Agilex 5 E-Series, and we don’t cripple the debugger.
CycloMod will also be at Teardown 2026. In his session "Dent and Dings from Dragging and Dropping", Greg Steiert will provide some of the story behind CycloMod and what he learned along the way, including some tips and tricks when working with the RP2040/RP2350 UF2 implementation. You can also stop by the Altera Retro Arcade to see some of the early prototypes. He would love to get feedback from the community and may be looking for beta testers.
Be sure to subscribe to the Altera Innovation Lab on Crowd Supply to get all these updates. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again at Teardown and would love to hear what everyone has been working on and how we can help.
