We’re excited to announce the latest firmware release for Boondock Echo, packed with essential bug fixes and significant enhancements!
Boondock Echo Firmware Release 8-28-2024
Bug Fixes
- Settings Retention: Resolved the issue where settings were not retained after device reboot.
- Offline Mode: Fixed the inability to set the device to offline mode.
- Playback Controls: Addressed unresponsive Previous and Next buttons during recording playback.
- Wi-Fi Connectivity: Corrected Wi-Fi connectivity failures and implemented missing retry attempts.
- Website Status: Resolved the issue of the device showing offline status on the website.
- CW Mode: Fixed constant rapid loop in CW Mode.
- Offline Restart: Implemented a hardware option to restart the device in offline mode.
Enhancements
- Improved LED Status Indicators: Enhanced status lights make it easier to determine the Boondock device's status at a glance.
- Mode Switching: Users can now switch between different modes directly on the device without needing the web interface.
- Repeater Mode - Beta: Added support for both simplex and duplex repeater modes.
- Connection Reliability: Improved Wi-Fi reconnection routines for better stability. After three failed attempts, the device will restart following a 5-minute offline period while continuing to record audio.
- Audible Alerts: New audible alerts help users track status, errors, and notifications.
- Do Not Disturb (DND) Mode - Beta: Activate DND mode to turn off lights and silence notifications by long-pressing the Volume button.
- Improved Audio Playback: Added a 100 ms ramp-up and ramp-down period to ensure smooth audio transitions and higher priority for alert playback to prevent audio jitters.
- Enhanced Stability: Optimized memory management and additional failure safeguards improve overall stability.
