Project update 3 of 5

A Little History!

by chipperdoodles

We’re almost there! Wow!

I wanted to share a little bit of the history of this project. Believe it or not this all started back in 2019! I had no idea back then that it would balloon into something of this scale but here we are. The very first board I designed, which was not even really functional, was a gift for my partner. It all started with the idea, hey what if I use the copper layer to put some cool artwork like some kind of sigil or seal. Somehow it morphed into a design that had potential for modularity, and from there I thought "hey… I want other people making art for these!". From there it grew into a project continuous refinement to where I was satisfied with the quality of the design and potential uses. A lot of it feels like a happy accident, and a lot of it reflects my personal journey of improving my own pcb design skills and knowledge.

If you want to read in more detail about the various unseen-to-the-public revisions and history of the amulet design, I have a Hackaday project just for that. It’s still a work in progress, but it has several entries already. And if you want to pick yourself up an Anwaar, the campaign still has a few weeks left to go!
