Hello again!
Last update we told you that shipments were beginning to leave Mouser’s warehouse, and that we expected batch 1 to be almost completely shipped out by now. Unfortunately, this has turned out to be an overly optimistic expectation.
Mouser’s Christmas/New Year break was larger than we anticipated, and now severe weather in Texas has caused further delays. As a result, very few units have shipped since our last update. Mouser has received all of our batch one units successfully; they’ve just not been leaving the warehouse.
All we can do at this point is apologize for the continued delays, and thank you for your patience as these issues are resolved. Our understanding is that most batch one delivery estimates are somewhere around the end of the January at this point.
In lighter news, batch 2 production is currently progressing well. PCBs and batteries are the only components for this batch that we are still waiting on. Both parts are estimated to ship to us before Chinese New Year, but delays are always possible. We will have more certainty in next month’s project update.
Development on Tangara’s firmware has continued steadily into the new year, and we’ve already made a number of new releases. Notable improvements we’ve made so far include:
We’ve also received a number of great code contributions. Thank you very much to everyone who has sent us pull requests so far!
That’s all we have to cover this month. We apologies again for the lengthy shipping delay. With any luck we should be past the worst of it, and will be able to start next month’s update with some good news.
Until then, take care!
