For the past year, Craft Computing has been developing a series of open-source environmental monitoring sensors designed for server racks. Today, we’re happy to announce that we’ve launched our crowdfunding campaign for Openviro Axe PoE.

Openviro Axe PoE is an open-source temperature and humidity monitor designed specifically for rackmount equipment. It communicates via standard SNMP, which makes for easy integration into your existing monitoring and alerting solution.

We’ve designed Openviro Axe PoE from the ground up to provide actionable data for your network and server environments. It is both more accurate and more affordable than existing environmental monitoring solutions.

We plan on shipping to backers by the end of Summer, 2025. Openviro Axe PoE is available for $149 with a single temperature and humidity probe. You can add a second probe for just $29, which allows you to monitor both intake and exhaust temps in your server rack.
