The title above makes it sound like we’re working with ET! But in reality, DAQiFi Nyquist 1 is helping the Colorado School of Mines in Golden develop processes to extract resources from extraterrestrial bodies such as meteorites.

The short video below gives a view of the school’s lab setup at its Center for Space Resources. There, DAQiFi Nyquist 1 is “fitting into a unique spot within our lab,” according to Dr. Christopher Dreyer, the Center’s Associate Director. It collects data from a temperature- and pressure-controlled chamber where the simulated extraterrestrial objects are studied. Have a look!
