We know everyone is anxiously awaiting their ORWLs. It took a while to overcome parts shortages, but production is finally underway and we have a detailed delivery schedule. In addition, ORWL is getting some attention from the Edison Awards.

Production Progress

Here’s what’s been keeping us busy:

• We faced worldwide SSD and Wi-Fi module shortages. Intel saved the day here, after a lot of effort. One happy side effect is we will increase the smallest drives from 120 GB to 180 GB for no additional charge. This upgrade will be automatic - you don't need to do anything.
• The fan is now fully integrated and working well.
• Following Eltan’s Coreboot implementation feedback we have changed the communication between the secure microcontroller and Intel CPU.
• Our Coreboot-based UEFI BIOS now supports Qubes, Windows, and several other modern Linux distributions.
• In order to prevent BLE replay attacks, we added some a feature to disable the key fob when we estimate the key is far from the unit. More details to come in a future update.

Delivery Schedule

Given the above progress, plus tackling a lot of smaller issues as they popped up, we FINALLY have all parts in stock for the next build! As such, we have released the PCB to manufacturing and the gears of production are turning, which means we can now be much more confident in the delivery schedule. In particular, we will ship 25 units between May 31 and June 6, 2017 (about four per day) and we will ship the remaining 50 or so units on June 20, 2017.
