Production and Shipping

Has It Already Been a Month?

We are very excited to share that we expect to start shipping certified products in just a few short weeks! Please see below for the individual pieces of the story - there are many important details.

Key Fobs Are DONE!

Our firmware team has fixed the final power management and stability issues with the key fobs! We have produced the PCBs, tested them, assembled them into housings, and they are ready to go with their PC friends! Key fob battery life is currently estimated to last about one week with daily extended use. They should last at least one month in “idle” when not broadcasting over Bluetooth.

20 Final Units Are Done, More Coming!

All ORWL PCBAs are done and fully tested. The final handful completed full testing last week. The first 20 were also assembled into full housings, and the rest were assembled throughout the week aside from one metal part that has had some quality failures. The supplier is correcting and re-supplying with delivery expected in two to three weeks. Final firmware for the secure microcontroller and final BIOS have been tested and released in support of this, and shipping operating systems have been applied to the units that are complete. There will be follow-up news as we publish source code for the same.

Certification

In other exciting news, we are in the midst of completing the FCC / ISED regulatory testing for ORWL and the key fob. There were two small problems that were chalked up to test environment (HDMI cable) rather than units, and we are just tidying up the reports. Markets outside North America have slightly more testing to complete due to extra immunity requirements, but will be there soon. These (European) units are actually the first ones that can likely ship, as there is no report and agency turn-around time for grant. As soon as all tests are passed these are legal to go to many countries, so they will be on the way. US-bound units, as soon as we know the tests pass, will first ship to our California offices while we await final grant, then we will ship to individuals. All of this is definitely happening over the next few weeks, so hang in there! Can’t wait to share what we’ve created!
