Unboxing Tips

Dear backers,

With the Hackboards starting to arrive I wanted to take a quick moment to give you all a few updates:

  1. You'll notice that some of the Wi-Fi chipsets have one antenna as opposed to two. This is perfectly normal. It's the same exact part number from Intel. Some require one antenna and others require two. There's no change to the functionality or performance between the two versions. It is normal if you receive only one antenna instead of two.
  2. The HDMI port will only support video and not sound. We are working with Intel for a patch for this, but we do not have a timeline at the moment. I'd suggest using the onboard Bluetooth for sound and we will be adding an HDMI adaptor to our website at cost for you to purchase if you can't wait for the patch.
  3. When inserting a CR927 battery for the real-time clock (RTC) on the Hackboard 2, be sure the plus (+) side is facing up.
  4. Here's a link to some important files such as the drivers required for using the 4G and 5G modules and the Windows 11 Pro factory image. We'll be adding more here as time goes on, so please bookmark this page: Hackboard 2 Downloads
  5. We will have all the remaining kits and accessories ready to ship by the end of this week. We'll let you know once everything leaves the factory, which should be about a week after everything is ready.

In the meantime, thank you again for your support and ongoing patience. The end is near and we’re really excited to get everyone’s feedback once they’ve had an opportunity to play around with the Hackboard 2 for a bit. We’re even more excited to see what you make with it! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email us at Support@Hackboard.com.

Best,
The Hackboard Team
