It’s been a while since the last update, so I wanted to share some exciting progress on the project!

Shipping the First Batch

I’m currently preparing to ship the first batch, which is on track to go out next month. Once the batch ships, I’ll send another update with more details.

New Hardware Feature: IMU Added

Since the last update, I managed to sneak in one last hardware improvement, an IMU. This is a great addition because it enables wake-on-motion functionality. Instead of relying solely on battery voltage to detect wake-up and sleep cycles, the IMU ensures the device can wake up based on motion. This is particularly useful for EVs, as some may stop charging the 12 V battery to save energy, making motion detection a more reliable way to know the car is in use.

WiCAN Firmware Updates

There have been some major updates to the WiCAN firmware, expanding compatibility with more vehicles. This means the device will work seamlessly with a wider range of cars, which is a big step forward.

Ongoing Work: Logging and Future Features

I’m still actively working on features like logging, and I plan to push an update with new functionality after the first batch ships. Stay tuned for more on that!
