I’m excited to officially launch the PL1-0, a board that allows you to safely connect your 3.3 or 5 volt microcontroller to industrial sensors and switches running at up to 30 V DC.

Microcontrollers are fantastic for prototyping and even machine control in many cases. The PL1-0 helps bridge the gap between the capability of platforms like the Arduino and the maturity of industrial sensors. The board can be used with almost any discrete sensor and comes with many useful features built-in:

  • 5 - 30 V DC sensor voltage range
  • Selectable sourcing (PNP) / sinking (NPN) inputs
  • 1 mS built-in debounce
  • 1 kV DC electrical isolation
  • 50 mA maximum power consumption

It also has a DIN rail mounting option and should be a perfect fit for many industrial and hobby projects alike.

I’ve put a lot of work into realizing this board and I hope it will prove to be useful and robust for many.
