What a ride! The Sword of Secrets campaign ends today, and I am incredibly humbled by the overwhelming support it has received. When I first launched this project, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. But seeing more than 100 people come together to order over 200 swords has been nothing short of amazing.

The original goal was set at $1,337 as a little hacker meme, a playful nod to the culture this project was born from. I thought it would be a fun target and maybe we would just scrape past it. Instead, we ended at more than 900% of the funding goal! That kind of response goes beyond numbers. It shows how much interest and excitement there is for hands-on hardware, hacking and embedded.

What makes this even more special is that the Sword of Secrets started out as a simple side-project for my last CCC visit. I didn’t want to come empty-handed without a project to show. To think that this small idea grew into something that captured so much attention and support through this campaign is truly incredible.

I also want to give a huge thank you to Crowd Supply and their amazing team for the help and support they gave me time and time again throughout this process. They really made this journey smoother with great care.

Heads up to those who are on the fence and have yet to grab a Sword: the current price is campaign exclusive, and the retail price is going to be higher. So this is might be best time to get yourself a sword if you haven’t already!

And for those with an eye on the ultimate challenge, there is still one golden sword left waiting to be claimed for the Golden Challenge.

Now, it is time for me to roll up my sleeves and get to work: prep for production, flash it, pack it, ship it!
