MS1 PCB Upgrade & Project News

by Goran F

Hello everyone,

We’d like to share a quick update on the Pixblasters MS1 Video LED Controller. The MS1 has recently undergone a PCB upgrade, introducing several practical improvements based on enclosure planning and long-term usability.

The main goal of this revision was to support an optional metal enclosure. To make this possible, we repositioned the PCB mounting holes and moved the configuration DIP switches to the edge of the board, ensuring they remain accessible once installed in a case. The status LEDs were relocated alongside the DIP switches for clearer visibility of operational states.

We also made a significant connectivity upgrade by replacing the USB-Mini connector with a USB-C configuration port. This change makes setup more convenient and eliminates the need for a special cable; most users can now configure the controller using any standard USB-C cable they already own.

The first production batch of the updated boards has arrived from the factory. Some of this batch has already been shipped and the new revision is available immediately through Mouser.

In parallel, we’re actively preparing a new product: the Pixblasters MINI Video LED Controller. Pixblasters MINI is a simplified, budget-friendly version of the MS1, designed for projects that don’t require the full MS1 feature set. While more compact and streamlined, it still delivers strong performance for demanding RGB LED video installations. You can follow the progress of this new controller on our Crowd Supply pre-launch page. If you’re interested, be sure to subscribe to receive updates as development continues.

As a reminder of what’s possible with Pixblasters controllers, we’re also sharing a short video showcasing some eye-catching LED installations built using our platform.

Thank you for your continued support and stay tuned, the Pixblasters team has more updates and new developments planned for 2026.
