Our project was successfully funded earlier this week thanks to all of you. Since the project was funded early we plan to start production as soon as possible, hopefully shortening the timeline overall. We will keep you updated on the production schedule as new information arrives.

Cloning Tags with ProxmarkPro

This section covers the steps to clone an HID tag to a T5577 tag with a ProxmarkPro. There are two sections to this functionality, cloning an HID tag on-hand, and cloning one saved on the SD card.

For this post you will need the following:

  • ProxmarkPro
  • HID tag (included with ProxmarkPro purchases)
  • T5577 tag (included with ProxmarkPro purchases)

Cloning an On-hand HID Tag

  1. Turn on your ProxmarkPro and connect the low frequency antenna.

  2. Enter Unchained Mode and navigate to the HID menu.

  3. With the HID tag in the field of the antenna, select the Read option. If read successfully, the display should say “HID tag Found” and the tag’s UID. Click the Right button to continue back to the HID menu. Your tag will be saved to the internal memory (not the microSD card) at this point.

  4. Navigate to the Clone option in the HID menu. Place the T5577 tag in field, and press the Clone option. If successful, the ProxmarkPro should now show “Complete” on the LCD.

  5. Double check that the HID tag was cloned successfully by trying to read it. Navigate to HID menu and select Identify. If it reads with the correct UID, then you have successfully cloned your HID Tag.

Note: Once you turn off your ProxmarkPro, your current tag will be removed from the internal memory. To avoid losing the tag data, you can always save the HID tag to your SD card and clone it later at any point. Just click the “Save” option in the HID menu.

Cloning an HID Tag From the SD Card

  1. With your LF antenna connected, navigate to the Load Tag Menu option. Select HID and then your desired tag.

  2. Once your tag is selected, navigate through the HID Menu to the Clone option With your T5577 tag in field of the LF antenna select the Clone option.

  3. Double check that the HID tag was cloned successfully by trying to read it. Navigate to HID menu and select Identify. If it reads with the correct UID then you have successfully cloned your HID Tag.

Replaying Tags

One of ProxmarkPro’s stand-alone functions is to replay tags, which we’ll walk you through. One section discusses how to replay a tag you have on hand and the second section covers how to replay a tag you have saved on the ProxmarkPro.

Replaying a Tag on Hand

Depending upon what type of tag you want to replay, connect the necessary antenna. In this example we will be using an HID tag and LF antenna.

With your LF antenna connected, navigate to the LF Menu, and then the HID Menu option.

With your HID tag in-field, select the Read option. Once the tag is read, navigate back to the HID menu.

Select Replay from the HID menu options, and your tag will now be replaying.

Place the LF antenna over your reader. Your tag should now have been read by the reader.

Replaying a Tag from Memory

This is very similar to the first example, but instead we are going to replay a tag that is saved on the SD card.

Depending on what type of tag you want to replay, connect the necessary antenna. In this example, we will be using an HID tag and LF antenna.

With your LF antenna connected, navigate to the Load Tag Menu option. Then select HID and your desired tag.

Once your tag is selected, navigate through the HID Menu and select Replay from the menu options.

Place the antenna over your reader. Your tag should now have been read by the reader.

Note: The range of replay will depend mostly on the reader itself. In our testing we have found replay to work at a maximum range of about 4 cm.
