Update 1 of 1
Welcome Game Bub, check out the latest from Zerowriter Ink, and don’t miss Soldered at Teardown 2025!
Crowd Supply’s flagship hardware event Teardown 2025 is just around the corner! Don’t miss Soldered’s Anything2MIDI workshop and a panel discussion featuring Soldered’s David Zovko. You can also visit the Soldered booth to check out the latest on bringing hardware ideas to market.
A hands-on, experimental workshop focused on transforming physical inputs into MIDI data for creative sound synthesis and control. Participants will use various sensors, like the gesture sensor, load cell, GPS (virtually any input, to be determined) connected to a Dasduino board. Through basic data reading on the ESP32, they'll map values to MIDI (0–128) and send them via USB to SurgeXT, a free open-source multi-platform synth. The workshop welcomes tinkerers and sound explorers, encouraging participants to question what an instrument can be, blending technology with the physical world in playful, unconventional ways.
Discover how to harness the power of recycled e-paper displays with Inkplate. This hands-on workshop will guide you through creating low-power, Wi-Fi-enabled interfaces using Arduino and MicroPython, perfect for dashboards, IoT devices, and more.
Explore how Soldered Electronics helps transform open hardware concepts into market-ready products. At our demo table, discover the journey from idea to reality through projects like Zerowriter Ink and the Inkplate series.
Help us to welcome Game Bub, an open-source FPGA-based retro emulation handheld that supports Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games, to the Soldered Electronic Inkubator.
You can catch Game Bub creator Eli Lipsitz giving a talk on the project at Teardown!
Come learn about Game Bub, an open-source FPGA retro-emulation handheld. I’ll discuss the origins and motivations behind the project, development challenges, how Game Bub contributes (or doesn’t!) to video game preservation, the joys of scope creep, and what’s next for the project.

Hello! Coming at you with a February update. Two months of progress in a single update. This is a fairly long and technical one, mostly about hardware and design. Enjoy!

Hello everyone. Here with an April update as the finish line draws near. I'll cut to the chase: I've made the decision to postpone fulfillment to June. In this update I'll talk a bit about why.
