Our Campaign is Now Live on Crowd Supply!

Hello everyone,

We are thrilled to announce that the latest addition to our Inkplate family, the Inkplate 5, has just launched its crowdfunding campaign! This new model continues the legacy of the Inkplate series, now redesigned and with a brand new form factor.

The Inkplate 5 is an Arduino-compatible board that features a 5.2" e-paper display. This display is capable of showing grayscale images or making partial refreshes at fast refresh times. It’s a plug-and-play device, programmable via a USB port and controlled by an ESP32 microcontroller with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. With an astonishingly low power consumption of only 18 uA in low-power mode, Inkplate 5 can last for months on a single Li-ion battery charge.

Inkplate 5 is all about being simple to use. The hardware is plug-and-play. Connect Inkplate 5 to your computer using the supplied USB cable, and it simply works. Our software is as easygoing as our hardware. Programmable via Arduino thanks to our Inkplate library, or via Micropython, you can be up and running, changing the screen’s contents, in just a few lines of code.

Inkplate 5 is open source hardware driven by open source software. Hardware design files and software are openly maintained in our GitHub repositories, as is our documentation. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, we provide free technical support through our email.

If you’d like to receive updates about Inkplate 5, you can subscribe to this project. We will be releasing weekly updates about the development of this project. Please consider securing your Inkplate 5 today, and thank you for your continued support. We can’t wait to see what you’ll create with Inkplate 5!

Best, David & the Soldered Electronics team
