Squire is a privacy-first indoor spatial sensing system designed for developers and researchers who want room-scale intelligence without cameras or cloud processing. By capturing information without cameras, Squire protects identities while keeping sensitive data fully under local control.

Squire fuses dual 24 GHz radar, 60 GHz radar, and a high-resolution direct Time-of-Flight (dToF) depth sensor into a unified spatial model of a room. The data captured can be interpreted in 2D or 3D space, and events captured by Squire can be replayed after the fact.

Most development kits provide a single sensing modality. Squire is built around true sensor fusion — radar for robust motion detection and subtle movement tracking, depth sensing for spatial structure, and embedded compute that integrates everything into a programmable spatial layer.

Model Space, Don’t Just Capture Video

Many indoor sensing systems require a tradeoff: cameras provide rich data but raise privacy concerns. PIR sensors offer only binary presence detection. Single radar modules can lack spatial structure.

Squire enables room-scale awareness without surveillance. By combining radar and structured depth sensing, developers can treat a room as a dynamic spatial system rather than a simple motion trigger. This enables smarthome systems that remain camera-free while still supporting occupancy-aware automation such as lighting, HVAC, and room-level activity detection, up to 8 m away.

Commercial applications include spatial analytics, gesture and presence sensing, and safety systems capable of detecting falls or abnormal inactivity. Whether you’re developing a system to help people aging in place, or monitor areas of a museum for traffic flow, Squire can help you bring your idea to the real world.

Features & Specifications

All sensing and processing occur locally on the device. No cloud connectivity is required for core functionality.

Capabilities

Multi-Person Spatial Tracking
Track multiple moving targets simultaneously with persistent IDs, including position, trajectory, distance, angle, and subtle micro-movement.
Zone-Based Occupancy Intelligence
Define programmable zones and monitor presence, dwell time, movement transitions, and activity levels across the room.
Room Geometry Modeling
Establish a baseline spatial map to distinguish static structure from human motion and detect environmental changes over time.
Structured Event Recording & Replay
Capture and replay spatial events as structured 2D and 3D data — including motion trajectories and depth maps — without recording video.

Developer Access

Squire is designed as a developer-accessible platform. Developers will have access to:

Open Source

PCB layouts and production files will not be open hardware. Developer documentation and interface details will be available prior to or at fulfillment. Schematics and core firmware will be made available under a permissible license after the campaign ends.
