Procuring Parts and Manufacturing Schedule

All the parts for ESP32-M1 have been purchased and are almost all currently on the way to the manufacturer. There is one part still out of stock at all major parts suppliers, including from Mouser. It is only available through manufacturers and third-party vendors at an extremely high price, even higher than the ESP32-M1 board, just for a single TI part. The lead time at Mouser for this part is Jun/July 2022 at the earliest. Unfortunately without this part, the manufacturing cannot start as planned on December 2021, and the closest date to produce the board is after Jun/July next year.

I understand the frustration, and share it, when all the preparation to go into production is done, but we’re still halted from moving forward.

A decision needs to be made. Either to redesign this section, including work to look for a similar part to TI, validating the part, redesigning the board, PCB change, prototype testing, and finally go into manufacturing, which will take some time, or to wait for the TI part.

Will update more on the path we’re taking sooner. Thank you all for your patience.
