Good News Regarding Manufacturing Progress!

by Juan Flores

Hi!

This update comes with very good news: PCB assembly is complete, and all microByte boards should be here in Spain by next week! Continuing with the good news, all remaining components (batteries, screws, rubber buttons, etc.) are now in our warehouse awaiting final assembly:

Regarding enclosures, the white, blue, and yellow models are done (and can be seen, boxed up, on the left-hand side of the picture above). Translucent enclosures are about 80% done, as well, so we’re almost there!

Finally, I would like to announce that I expect to release version 1.0 of the microByte firmware by the end of this week. This will be a major update because v1.0 is the version that you will receive pre-installed on your microByte! All changes will be documented at release, so have a look at the firmware repository next week if you’re curious. These latest updates are focused primarily on stability, bug fixes, and a few new features: changing the menu color, buttons to save and load state, file management for saved games, etc.
