Project update 6 of 19
Inkplate 6 was successfully funded last week, and we would like to say thank you to everyone who backed the campaign or supported the project in any way. We exceeded our goal by over 500%, and we consider that a great success. You all made this possible, and we are looking forward to shipping you a great product.
Our focus has already switched to production. The final prototype version has arrived, and we are currently testing and validating it. Everything looks good so far, and we expect to send PCBs to production within the next few days. Most of the parts for assembly have also been ordered and are on their way to us. We weren’t able to order the most important part yet – the e-paper displays – due to supply chain disruptions caused by the Coronavirus outbreak in China. We should be able to order them on 18 February, though, so we do not currently expect any delays due to the outbreak. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.
Please let us know if you requested that an enclosure be added to a previous crowdfunding order but did not hear back from Crowd Supply. We’ll help you sort it out.
Crowd Supply will no longer be able to accommodate such requests after Wednesday, February 19th, so let them know right away if you still need to upgrade your order. (And please remember to include your order number in the request.)
Enclosures will, of course, remain available for new Inkplate 6 pre-orders.
A small tidbit for the end: we have significantly improved our partial refresh algorithm. There is almost no ghosting on the screen now, and the updates are faster. Check out the video!
Finally, we are available to answer any questions you might have, at any time, by way of the Crowd Supply contact form.
