Project update 16 of 20
Making Inkplate 6 was a great experience for the e-radionica.com team, and we learned a lot from it. And, thanks to your feedback, we were able to improve our product. The most common requests were for a larger screen, more GPIO pins, and an on-board Real-Time Clock (RTC). With Inkplate 10, we’re delivering all three, plus a USB Type-C port!
Inkplate 10 is currently crowdfunding on Crowd Supply. It is an easy-to-use e-paper display board with a 9.7-inch screen. It’s quite similar to Inkplate 6, with the most notable difference being that larger display. As mentioned above, other differences include: 16 more GPIO pins thanks to an MCP23017 IO exapander, an on-board RTC based on the PCF85063A (with CR2032 battery holder), a USB Type-C port for power and programming, and a nicer power switch in form of a push button and a user programmable wake-up pin. See below for a detailed comparison of the two boards:
|Inkplate 10||Inkplate 6|
|Resolution||1200 x 825||800 x 600|
|Total number of pixel||990,000||480,000|
|Low-Power Mode||22 μA||25 μA|
|Refresh Time||1.61 s||1.26 s|
|Refresh Time per Pixel||1.62 μs||2.6 μs|

|Available GPIO pins||28||12|
The Inkplate 10 is currently available only through Crowd Supply, and we expect to ship by the end of April, 2021.
