Hi XTRX backers,

As part of our ongoing development, we’ve decided to support the legacy Fairwaves XTRX hardware and revive a project that has been largely inactive in recent years.

At Wavelet Lab, we’ve been developing a new generation of SDR platforms, and as part of that effort, we’ve unified our software and gateware into a single stack. As an additional step, we’ve added support for legacy XTRX Rev.4 and Rev.5 boards within this same codebase.

• Compatibility with a modern, actively maintained SDR stack

Unified Platform

Our goal is to reduce fragmentation and make development easier across different hardware.

• XTRX, xSDR and sSDR now share a common architecture
• PCIe and USB 2.0 interfaces are supported across all platforms
• Future improvements will roll out across the entire stack

The Path Forward

If you’ve been using XTRX in your projects, you can now continue development on a maintained stack and transition to hardware like xSDR, while keeping the same software environment and APIs.
