We’re excited to announce the release of WiCAN PRO firmware v4.40! As promised in my previous update, this version brings powerful new features along with important bug fixes.

WireGuard VPN Support

WiCAN PRO can now connect directly to a WireGuard VPN, allowing you to securely reach your Home Assistant setup from anywhere, no third-party services required.

When paired with ESPNetLink, an LTE + GPS module that plugs directly into WiCAN PRO, your device can connect to the LTE network and provide real-time vehicle tracking. This means both your vehicle’s location and CAN data can be pushed securely to Home Assistant continuously, even while you’re on the road.

BLE/Wi-Fi Dual Mode

You can now configure WiCAN PRO to run BLE and Wi-Fi in dual mode:

• While driving, connect your favorite app over BLE.
• When the BLE connection is disconnected, WiCAN PRO will automatically switch to Wi-Fi and connect to your home WiFi, while keeping AutoPID mode enabled.

HTTPs and MQTTs support

HTTPS is now fully supported, enabling secure communication with external services. You can also integrate with the ABRP API for advanced trip planning and energy usage tracking.
