VitalTrack PPG&Motion is a research-grade hardware platform designed for synchronized acquisition of photoplethysmography (PPG) and motion signals.
Unlike consumer wearable devices that provide only processed metrics and limited access to raw data, VitalTrack enables developers, engineers, and researchers to collect synchronized raw physiological signals in real time through Bluetooth LE streaming. This makes it particularly suitable for algorithm development, motion artifact analysis, and experimental research where full control over data is required.
VitalTrack PPG&Motion supports wearable form factors and provides an open SDK for rapid integration into custom applications. By combining time-synchronized PPG and motion data in a compact, lightweight design, it enables more reliable signal analysis in dynamic environments and accelerates the development of wearable biosignal systems.
This product is a biosignal measurement board designed for research and development, capable of simultaneously acquiring synchronized PPG and motion data. Unlike many commercial wearable devices that provide only processed metrics, this device offers direct access to raw PPG and motion sensor data. This allows researchers to analyze signals freely, develop custom algorithms, and investigate motion artifacts using time-synchronized data.
The device provides an open SDK and BLE-based API architecture, enabling seamless integration into various research environments. Developers and researchers can stream sensor data in real time via BLE and build custom data processing pipelines without restrictions from proprietary platforms. Designed with a research-oriented approach, the system emphasizes signal integrity, configurability, and flexibility for experimental use.
The board can be applied to a wide range of use cases, including wearable biosignal data acquisition, algorithm development with synchronized PPG and motion data, motion artifact analysis, real-time BLE integration with custom applications, and academic research projects. By eliminating dependence on closed consumer wearable ecosystems and enabling direct access to raw sensor data, VitalTrack increases experimental flexibility while reducing development time for wearable biosignal systems.
VitalTrack PPG&Motion is designed as an open development platform for researchers and developers who need full control over biosignal data.
This project provides open development resources to support researchers and developers, including 3D printable enclosure files for the board, SDK software for data acquisition (available for iOS, Android, and Windows or Linux desktops) and device communication, and communication protocol documentation. These resources allow users to easily integrate the device into their own systems and develop custom applications for biosignal data acquisition and analysis.
With direct access to raw sensor data and full transparency of the system, developers can prototype faster, experiment freely, and develop custom algorithms tailored to their specific use cases.
We actively encourage contributions from the community. Users can extend the platform by submitting improvements via GitHub, developing third-party applications, sharing experimental results, or customizing enclosure and mounting designs.
