Noora Industrial DAQ is a compact industrial platform that combines data acquisition, control, and communication in a single device. It provides analog and digital I/O, motion-control outputs for motors and drivers, built-in PID control, and communication interfaces for distributed systems. The result is a flexible tool that allows engineers to build reliable measurement and automation systems with far less hardware and integration effort.
Building a measurement or automation system often requires combining several separate devices. Engineers may need a data acquisition unit, a motion controller, a PID controller, and communication interfaces to connect everything together. This increases system complexity, wiring, and development time. Noora Industrial DAQ was designed to simplify this process.
Engineers often build custom test systems for sensors, light sources, motors, or electronic devices. In these setups, the system needs to collect measurement data while also controlling actuators such as motors, heaters, or positioning stages. Traditionally this requires several separate devices connected together, which increases wiring complexity and makes the system harder to maintain.
Noora Industrial DAQ allows engineers to build these systems with a single compact platform. Sensors can be connected to the analog and digital inputs while the device controls motors or other actuators through its control outputs. For example, in a photometric test setup the system can read data from light sensors while positioning the light source with a motor during the measurement process. These systems are often deployed in industrial environments where electrical noise and long cable runs can affect measurement reliability. The platform is designed to maintain stable measurements and control in these conditions, with high-voltage isolation (up to 4 kV on digital I/O and 1.5 kV on analog channels) ensuring reliable operation even in electrically noisy environments.
The platform can also be used in small automation systems, robotics experiments, or distributed measurement setups. Multiple units can be combined to expand the system and place measurement and control nodes closer to sensors and actuators. This makes it possible to build scalable measurement and automation systems without the complexity of large industrial control platforms.
Noora Industrial DAQ is designed with openness, transparency, and long-term maintainability in mind. Engineers should be able to understand the tools they rely on, inspect how they work, and adapt them for their own systems.
Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, we will publish the hardware schematics, firmware source code, bill of materials, and host-side software used to communicate with the device. Making these components available allows engineers to study the system design, integrate it into custom platforms, and extend the firmware for specialized applications.
All files will be released under permissive open-source licenses appropriate for both hardware and software reuse. The project repository will be made publicly available before products are shipped to Crowd Supply for fulfillment. This ensures that the design, firmware, and documentation are accessible well before delivery.
