SourcePure SC is a compact, portable, easy-to-use power supply that accepts a wide array of inputs, charges an on-board supercapacitor in less than a minute, stores that charge for up to an hour, and outputs stable 1.8, 3.3, and 5 VDC power. Whether you’re an engineer, a developer, or a hobbyist, having the right tools can make all the difference. SourcePure Super Capacitance (SC) will revolutionize how you work by allowing you to take clean, reliable power on the road.
SourcePure SC isn’t just another power supply. It’s a game-changer for engineering professionals who can’t afford to compromise.
SourcePure SC leverages cutting-edge technology to minimize downtime and help you stay productive and stress free. When plugged into 110/220 V mains power, SourcePure’s custom, 400 farad (400 F) array of advanced, double-layer supercapacitors pulls an impressive 10 V of charge at 50 A through the built-in switched-mode power supply (SMPS).
That’s enough to go from empty to full in about 43 seconds and gives you 20 kJ of stored energy to play with. The result is over an hour of continuous power at 1 A so you can work uninterrupted and stay in the zone.
SourcePure provides the clean, consistent power your sensitive projects need to operate flawlessly. It does so by using a buck-boost converter to produce 5 VDC output and, when needed, ultra low-noise low-dropout (LDO) regulators to produce 3.3 and 1.8 VDC output. The resulting noise levels are low enough to power precision applications involving the most sensitive components.
For those of us who occasionally find ourselves with more than an hour of work to do and no wall plug in sight, SourcePure also includes an external, rechargeable, 3000 mAh, 9 V, lithium-ion battery with a built-in USB Type-C charging port. (We provide a cable that lets you plug this battery into SourcePure’s barrel-jack socket, but you’ll have to source your own wall-plug adapter and USB Type-C cable to recharge the battery.)
On the other end of things, SourcePure simplifies your workspace and streamlines development thanks to its 5, 3.3, and 1.8 V output channels. Power a wide range of devices—from sensors to microcontrollers to full-scale dev boards, to sensitive RF amplifiers—all from a a single, compact power supply.
Location | Charge Source | Charge Time | Work Time | Primary Application | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Supercapacitor | Internal | 110/220 V mains power | < 1 Minute | 1 hours @ 1 A | For use when mains power is available |
Rechargeable battery | External | USB Type-C wall adapter & cable (not included) | 1.5 hours | 3 hours @ 1 A | Suitable for longer on-the-road sessions |
SourcePure SC’s compact size makes it easy to carry in your bag, ready to deliver professional-grade power wherever you might need it. Thanks to a rugged aluminum enclosure, it’s built to withstand the rigors of daily use on the road. And that robustness extends to SourcePure’s internals, as well. With built-in overcurrent and over-temperature protection, it keeps your devices safe, even under demanding conditions. You can work with peace of mind, knowing your power supply won’t let you down.
Despite its compact design, SourcePure SC outputs extremely clean power. We not only validated this claim in our own lab, we sent 20 pre-production units into the wild with testers. Here’s what our Fluke 289 TRMS Industrial Logging Multimeter has to say about SourcePure SC’s power output…
Ultra-high PSRR: 83 dB @ 100 Hz, 85 dB @ 1 KHz, 80 dB @ 10 KHz, 61 dB @ 100 KHz

This September and October, we will finalize our design, update our manufacturing plan as needed to accommodate demand, and begin ordering components and other materials. We expect to order all remaining components and begin manufacturing early November, a few weeks after the end of the campaign. By January, we should be ready for compliance testing and final production, which puts us in March for final assembly, testing, packaging, and labeling. If we then allocate time for shipping and receiving logistics on Mouser’s end—and reserve a bit of a buffer—that gives us an estimated ship date of late May, 2025.
After our production run is complete, we will package everything up and send it along to Crowd Supply’s fulfillment partner, Mouser Electronics, who will handle distribution to backers worldwide. You can learn more about Crowd Supply’s fulfillment service under Ordering, Paying, and Shipping in their guide.
Delivering products on time is always a challenge, and our team take quality assurance very seriously, so we won’t be rushing any part of this process. We have planned the next nine months very carefully, however, and established alternatives for each manufacturing stage. We’ve also accounted for the fact that some of our US suppliers will be on holiday from late December through mid-January, and our Chinese partners will be unavailable for a few weeks starting in late January.
