findMe is an open-source development kit enabling the user to explore the new Bluetooth 6.0 capabilities ranging (distance) and angle of arrival (direction, AoA). The findMe kit consists of a Hub and one or more Tags.

findMe Hub is the infrastructure component providing ranging, AoA, Wi-Fi access and power supply via USB Type-C or rechargeable battery. findMe Tag is a coin-cell operated device containing four inertial and environment sensors, an I2C interface for easy extension, and ranging capability.

The Ultimate Bluetooth 6.0 Playground

Bluetooth is everywhere and a fundamental part of our daily lives. The findMe Tag + Hub combines the core concepts of telemetry, localization, and command & control to address practical challenges in various environments.

For example, in logistics, a crate of avocados in a large warehouse can transmit not only its environmental status but also its precise location. This fusion of real-time position data with sensor telemetry—such as temperature and motion—helps optimize storage conditions, reduce search times, and improve cold chain management. The ability to track goods with centimeter-level accuracy solves common problems related to lost or misplaced inventory and inefficient warehouse operations.

Beyond tracking, the findMe system enables intuitive spatial interactions by capturing directional and movement data from the Tag. A user can control devices—such as turning on a light—simply by pointing or moving the Tag in a specific way. This integration of localization and command functions creates natural, gesture-based control mechanisms, making the platform suitable for smart home applications, industrial automation, and next-generation user interfaces.

Features & Specifications

findMe Hub

findMe Tag

The firmware provided for Tag and Hub is similar, while not all modules are used in both components.

Open Source

We are building a fully open and hackable Bluetooth 6.0 platform. By making the hardware and code transparent, we’re empowering the community to refine localization algorithms and invent use cases we haven’t even dreamed of yet. We are releasing the full source files for both the Hub and the Tag hardware. We are not just releasing PDF schematics; we are releasing the native design files.

Firmware

The provided firmware is built on the Zephyr RTOS ecosystem within the Nordic Connect SDK (NCS).

Tools & Algorithms

We aim to deliver a comprehensive software suite to analyze hardware performance and evaluate different positioning strategies.
