Upgraded Display!

by Saber Kaygusuz

Our initial plans for the Vapor Phase One touchscreen involved a 3.2-inch, 320 x 240 pixel resistive display. After some initial testing, however, we determined that this was insufficient (particularly when displaying graphs of soldering data). As a result, we are happy to announce a surprise upgrade. Instead of the above, we are now going to install a 4-inch, 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen, which will accommodate a more readable interface and nicer looking graphs.

Touch User Interface Development Framework

In order to maximize its extensibility, we are developing our touchscreen interface with TouchGFX Designer from STM, which is a free-to-use tool that makes it easy to customize menu structures. As a result, you will be able to add your own functionality in the future.

Mechanical Design

The photograph below gives you a sense of how the display will be integrated, mechanically, into Vapor Phase One:

We are working on designing Vapor Phase One in such a way that non-experts can successfully solder any component every time. Thank you very much for your support, and for the great feedback we have received so far.
