Thanks to everyone who has backed Prunt Board 3, we have now reached our funding goal! We have already begun the last pre-production work, so we can begin manufacturing, testing every board, and getting Prunt Board 3 into backers hands as soon as possible.

Final Pre-Production Work

The hardware design is now effectively finalized with the new heater drivers that we gave details on in the last update. A set of prototypes with this revision is on its way to us now.

The next major step is EMC testing. We are already organizing this with the testing lab. If testing goes as expected, we will move ahead into manufacturing. If any issues come up during testing, we will share what we find and explain any changes that need to be made.

Manufacturing

Once testing is complete, we will move on to full-scale manufacturing. We are already buying parts to make sure that everything is ready to go.

After the boards are manufactured, we will inspect every board and perform functional testing to ensure everything works perfectly. We will share our testing process in a future update.

Software and Documentation

In parallel with the hardware work, we will continue improving the Prunt motion controller and the documentation needed to get started with Prunt Board 3. We are working to support as many configurations as possible by the time the boards ship. If a particular feature is not supported on day one, all hardware protection features are still available when running Klipper on the board.

Fulfillment

After inspection and testing, completed boards will be sent to Crowd Supply’s fulfilment partner, Mouser Electronics, who will handle distribution to backers.

As we continue to move forward with testing and production, we will give timelines with estimated dates in future updates. For now, we can not promise any specific dates for milestones since EMC testing and component lead times are out of our control.
